The atherosclerotic plaque is characterized by an accumulation of lipids under the intima of artery wall, together with infiltration of immunocytes, such as macrophages, which are believed to participate in the process of atherogenesis.2, 4 Here we demonstrate that deficiency of Pdcd4, especially hematogenous Pdcd4, contributed to the attenuation of atherosclerosis plaque formation in hyperlipidemia mice. Here, PDCD4 is linked to atherosclerosis.
