The antiapoptotic family members Bcl-2, Bcl-xL, and Mcl-1 are often overexpressed in glioblastoma.33 Successful targeting of the protective proteins alone or in combination with other therapies has been repeatedly described.5, 14, 34, 35, 36 Generally, the more antiapoptotic proteins can be neutralized, the better is apoptosis induction. This evidence concerns the gene BCL2L1 and glioblastoma.
