Slug expression was significantly upregulated in high-stage bladder cancers (e.g., non-muscle-invasive 27% versus muscle-invasive 77%, P = 0.023 [42]; lymph node-negative 58% versus lymph node-positive 89%, P = 0.012 [97]; non-muscle-invasive 23% versus muscle-invasive 77%, P = 0.04 [98]), whereas there were no statistically significant differences in Slug expression between low-grade and high-grade tumors in these 3 studies. Here, SNAI2 is linked to urinary bladder carcinoma.
