As established biomarkers for cardiac overload and myocardial injury respectively, NT-proBNP is not, but serum cTnI is useful in identifying myocardial fibrosis, and combined measurements of serum cTnI and MWT further improve its value for predicting myocardial fibrosis in patients with HOCM and normal systolic function.
