Panels of biomarkers have been used to identify Alzheimer’s disease (AD); panels consisting of 10–20 proteins have been identified which allow ~90% Sensitivity and Specificity for the identification of AD27, and panels of plasma phospholipids have proven useful for the identification of AD28, and even panels of pathogenic proteins (i.e., amyloid β1-42 and P-T181 tau)29. Here, MAPT is linked to Alzheimer disease.
