Another sub-analysis of the PRIDE Study included 346 patients with the diagnosisof HF.11,12 In this study, sST2 concentrations atadmission correlated with New York Heart Association functional class, BNP (r =0.29), NT‐pro‐BNP (r = 0.41), C-reactive protein (r = 0.43), creatinineclearance (r = 0.22), and left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (r = 0.13).Unlike NPs, sST2 levels did not correlate with age, previous diagnosis of HF,body mass index, atrial fibrillation, or cause of HF (ischemic vs non-ischemic).As observed in the previous study, sST2 was a strong predictor of mortality. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and hydrops fetalis.
