GPR171 silencing with shRNA #1 or #2 significantly suppressed cell proliferation, reducing the growth of Calu-6 cells to 32.7% (p = 8.4×10−4) and 16.7% (p = 2.2×10−4) of that in control shRNA cells, respectively, 4 days after infection (Figure 2A).
