Since the temperature increase associated with RF EMF stimulus is not tantamount to a noxious heat stimulus, we hypothesized that TRPV4 channels may be involved, as these channels are expressed in sensory nerve afferents and dorsal root ganglia, are activated by temperature ramps within the physiological range (< 40°C), and are implicated in neuropathic pain [21,25]. Here, TRPV4 is linked to neuropathic pain.
