Still, if we compared the methylation profiles of all patients with endometriosis to healthy women, we found 28 differentially methylated regions (DMRs) (false discovery rate, FDR <0.05, Δβ ranging from –0.01 to –0.16 and from 0.01 to 0.08) from which 16 were associated to known genes (PI3, SLC43A3, MGAT5B, MUC4, HIVEP3, FGG, CLCF1, CANT1, LTK, AHRR, AKR1B1, APEH, CST11, ELOVL4, HBE1 and NEGR1) (Additional file 2). The gene discussed is CANT1; the disease is endometriosis.
