Serum OPG levels were most significantly elevated in UF110-infected mice (Fig 2D), whereas serum RANKL levels decreased in mice infected with all strains one week after infection (Fig 2E), indicating that the RANKL/OPG ratio, an index of osteoclastogenic activity, is most significantly decreased in UF110-infected mice.
