BRCA1 and BRCA2 germline mutations are known risk factors for ovarian cancer [2, 7, 25-33], and it has been reported that up to 44% of patients without a family history of ovarian cancer harbour a germline BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation, and as such may act as first alert for descendants [10]. Here, BRCA2 is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
