Similar results were obtained with the mesenchymal human H157 lung cancer cell line with a stable doxycycline-inducible system to express miR-200a and/or b at levels ~20-fold baseline32, which produced an MET with morphologic reorganization into tight epithelial clusters (Fig. 1f), suppression of ZEB1 and other mesenchymal markers, and re-expression of epithelial protein markers (Fig. 1g). The gene discussed is ZEB1; the disease is lung carcinoma.
