Pglyrp1-/-, Pglyrp2-/-, Pglyrp3-/-, and Pglyrp4-/- mice all have significant and distinct changes in the abundance of several of the eight major groups of Eubacteria in their stools, and their increased sensitivity to severe DSS-induced colitis can be transferred to WT germ-free mice by the intestinal microflora from Pglyrp-deficient mice [13, 14].
