TNF-α and TGF-β have been proposed to be genetic modifiers of CF (Cutting, 2010), and ROS have been reported to be enhanced in CF cells (Luciani et al., 2010) and to be massively produced by neutrophils during the inflammatory reactions that are common in CF patients (Witko-Sarsat et al., 1995). This evidence concerns the gene TNF and cystic fibrosis.
