VEGFA and cancer: A case-control study in a Chinese population has suggested that the VEGF -1498 CC genotype was significantly increased risk of RCC [49] and Bruyere et al. reported that patients who carried VEGF-A -1498 CT or TT genotypes had an increased risk of developing cancer [21], which might be due to the fact that the VEGF -1498 polymorphisms were not in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.
