ALB and stroke disorder: Furthermore, there was no immuno-reactivity for albumin in the brain parenchyma of mice sacrificed on days 4 (data not shown), 6, 8 (Fig 4) and 10 (data not shown) following infection when compared to the positive control (an ischemic tissue obtained in a mouse model of stroke [38] which was, as expected, immuno-reactive for albumin), suggesting that leukocytes infiltration was not related to a breakdown of the BBB.
