In this frame, we demonstrated that Haptoglobin (Hpt), an acute-phase protein of inflammation, binds Apolipoprotein E (ApoE), influencing ApoE-mediated cholesterol trafficking in blood (Cigliano et al., 2009) and in neuroblastoma cell lines (Spagnuolo et al., 2014a). This evidence concerns the gene APOE and neuroblastoma.
