These results are consistent with previous studies showing a decrease of Kv7.2 levels in the DRG of rats subjected to bone cancer and peripheral sciatic nerve ligation (Rose et al., 2011; Zheng et al., 2013) indicating that the Kv7.2 decrease in the DRG is a general mechanism triggered by peripheral nerve damage and shared by different species. This evidence concerns the gene KCNQ2 and bone cancer.
