Indeed, these authors have found that in athymic nude mice subcutaneously implanted with human NSCLC cells, delphinidin treatment causes: (i) a significant inhibition of tumor growth, (ii) a significant decrease in the expression of markers for cell proliferation (Ki67 and PCNA) and angiogenesis (CD31 and VEGF), and (iii) a significant induction of apoptosis, when compared with control mice. Here, VEGFA is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
