STAMBP and Keratoconjunctivitis sicca: To investigate the effects of α-MSH on corneal dysfunctions in dry eye rats, the α-MSH at the doses of 10−5, 10−4, and 10−3 mg/ml were topically applied to the corneas of the scopolamine-induced dry eye rats on daily basis, clinical evaluations, including Schirmer’s test, tear breakup time (BUT), and corneal fluorescein staining were conducted every week.
