Furthermore, the Vβ5.2 and Vβ6 families are reported to be preferentially expressed by cutaneous lymphocyte–associated antigen–positive cells responding to the superantigen staphylococcal enterotoxin A in patients with atopic dermatitis and induced by the toxic shock syndrome toxin 1 superantigen, respectively.40, 41 Although speculative, this raises the possibility that local IL-17RB+ TH2 cells in patients with CRSwNP undergo antigen-specific expansion in response to common but as yet undefined epitopes with an additional non–antigen-specific component mediated by superantigens.
