Serum omentin-1 level was not correlated with BNP in heart failure, suggesting a different path-physiological progression of heart failure [24], but in IHD serum omentin-1 level is negatively correlated with cardiac troponin-I and IL-6, since both omentin-1 and IL-6 are produced by stromal vascular cells of fatty tissue with paracrine effect; so IL-6 may inhibit omentin-1 production, but cardiac troponin-I reflects cardiomyocyte damage that increased coincidentally with IL-6 [25]. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and myocardial ischemia.
