In papillary thyroid cancer, numerous methylation studies have revealed that RARB (Retionoic Acid Receptor), CDKN2A (Cyclin-Dependent Kinase Inhibitor 2A), TSHR (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Receptor), CDH1 (Cadherin 1, type 1), DAPK (Death-Associated Protein Kinase 1), MLH1 (mutL Homolog 1) and RASSF1A(Ras associated gene) are observed to have significantly altered methylation levels [7,8]. The gene discussed is TSHR; the disease is thyroid gland papillary carcinoma.
