Aims of the present work have been firstly to detect HR-HPV DNA in OSCC/OPSCC, secondly to value the pattern of expression of CK19, and finally to demonstrate the CK19 overexpression in neoplastic cells (compared to the normal areas) in order to prove the possible relationship between HR-HPV+ oral/oropharyngeal cancer and the high levels of CK19 expression. This evidence concerns the gene KRT19 and oropharynx cancer.
