To date, the roles of WNT5a in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and basal cell carcinoma (BCC) as well as the effect of WNT5a on keratinocyte migration have not been fully investigated, although Pourreyron et al. [37] recently demonstrated up-regulation of WNT5a in SCC/BCC and its localization to the leading edge of tumors as well as in tumor-associated fibroblasts. The gene discussed is WNT5A; the disease is cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.
