ALB and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis: Mean baseline serum albumin levels in L-carnitine-supplemented NASH patients (4.7 ± 0.5 g/dL) were optimal and much better than mean baseline levels in L-carnitine-supplemented cirrhotic patients in our study (3.2 ± 0.5 g/dL); that difference may explain why L-carnitine had no effects on serum albumin levels in patients with NASH.
