Gotsman et al. and Mor et al. have reported that CD4+CD25+ Tregs deficiency enhanced atherosclerotic lesion development in LDLR−/− mice, and adoptive transfer of CD4+CD25+ Tregs attenuated the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis in apoE−/− mice [42, 43]. This evidence concerns the gene LDLR and atherosclerosis.
