Recently, it is reported that DJ-1 is highly expressed in invasive breast cancer cell and is able to repress the expression of KLF17 to promote breast cancer cell invasion by downregulating E-cadherin and increasing Snail expression (Fig. 5); moreover, DJ-1 could directly regulate KLF17 by binding to the ID1 promoter [24]. This evidence concerns the gene ID1 and breast carcinoma.
