RBM5 and lung cancer: Knockdown of RBM5 was associated with altered expression of many genes in a number of different cell lines (a normal lung epithelial cell line (BEAS-2B), a normal breast epithelial cell line (MCF-10A) and three different lung cancer cell lines with varying RBM5 expression levels (A549, Calu-6 and NCI-H1299), notably increasing the expression of genes involved in cell adhesion, migration, and motility, all processes important to metastasis (Oh et al.2010).
