MicroRNAs (miRNAs) exert remarkable effects in diverse apoptosis mechanisms involving SOX6. MiR-16 inhibited apoptosis of ESCC cells by downregulating RECK and SOX6 [9]; miR-208 [8] and miR-155 [11] promoted ESCC or hepatocellular carcinoma cell proliferation by targeting SOX6. MiRNAs participate in many physiological and pathophysiological processes of the heart, such as cardiac contraction and morphogenesis, myocardial infarction, and heart failure [12–14]. This evidence concerns the gene SOX6 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
