Interestingly, % of CD14++CD16+PAR-2+ in peripheral blood was negatively correlated with pulmonary lung function, FEV1 (% predicted) (R = -0.685, P = 0.029 Fig 4C) and positively correlated with the percent of CD4+ T cells in peripheral blood expressing CRTh2 (R = 0.745, P = 0.013, Fig 4D) in the group of patients having asthma exacerbations. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and asthma.
