GNAQ and melanoma: We conclude that (i) genetic presence of an activating mutation within Gαq/11 (MZ7 harbours Gα11R183C, Hcmel12 harbours GαqQ209L) does apparently not suffice to define the molecular subtype of melanoma that responds to Gq inhibition, and (ii) FR effectively suppresses proliferation even in the absence of mutationally activated forms of Gq.
