HLA-E and head and neck cancer: Treatment with anti-NKG2A monoclonocal antibody was shown to overcome HLA-E mediated suppression of anti-tumor cellular cytotoxicity in vitro [43, 44] and this has resulted in a currently ongoing phase I/II trial in which patients with advanced head and neck cancer are treated with an anti-NKG2A monoclonocal antibody (ClinicalTrials.gov, Identifier: NCT02331875).
