PDT increases HIF-1 activity in mouse mammary carcinoma (EMT-6) cells [28] and human bladder cancer (UROtsa, RT112, and J84 but not RT4) cells [29] as well as in murine Kaposi's sarcoma- [30], BA mouse mammary carcinoma- [31, 32], and CNE2 nasopharyngeal carcinoma xenografts [33].
