Transmembrane protein 16A (TMEM16A) calcium-activated chloride channels (CaCCs) are amplified and highly expressed in several human cancers, such as head and neck squamous carcinoma (HNSCC), breast cancer, oesophageal squamous carcinoma (ESSC), gastrointestinal stromal tumours and prostate cancer [2,3,4,5,6,7,8]. This evidence concerns the gene ANO1 and breast carcinoma.
