This prediction is in agreement with our ChIP-Seq results and ChIP-Seq results generated by the Farnham group, which led to the identification of more than 10,000 binding sites (corresponding to 5,789 genes) for E2f1 in breast cancer cells, the majority of which only harbours the 5′-CGCGC-3′ binding site25. The gene discussed is E2F1; the disease is breast cancer.
