WIF1 and Hepatic fibrosis: It has been demonstrated that Wnt antagonists such as secreted Frizzled-related proteins (sFRPs), Wnt inhibitory factor 1 (WIF1) and secreted Dickkopf (DKK) family (DKK1-4) can attenuate hepatic fibrosis via inhibiting Wnt/β-catenin pathway, suggesting Wnt/β-catenin pathway may be a novel therapeutic target in liver fibrosis [9, 10].
