Based on these preliminary results and the published molecular classifications which highlighted two main genetic subtypes (mesenchymal and proneural) [6–8], the aim of the present study was to evaluate the expression of five mesenchymal genes (VEGFC, FLT4, MET, HGF, CHI3L1), and five proneural genes (PROM1, NOTCH1, DLL3, PDGFRA, BCAN) in a series of 59 newly diagnosed glioblastomas.
