Immunofluorescence studies revealed only disperse staining of Pla2g3 in normal controls (Fig 5C) as compared to the intensive Pla2g3 staining co-localized with GFAP signals observed in AD patients (Fig 5F and 5H arrow heads), indicating that Pla2g3 expression is promoted mostly in astrocytes of AD patients. This evidence concerns the gene GFAP and Alzheimer disease.
