ACE and bone fracture: Table 3 shows that exposure to thiazides (SIR 0.7, 95 % CI 0.6–0.7), beta-blockers (SIR 0.7, 95 % CI 0.7–0.8), calcium channel blockers (SIR 0.8, 95 % CI 0.8–0.8), angiotensin II receptor blockers (SIR 0.8, 95 % CI 0.7–0.8), combination products containing ACE inhibitor/thiazide (SIR 0.7, 95 % CI 0.6–0.7) and angiotensin II receptor blocker/thiazide (SIR 0.6, 95 % CI 0.6–0.6) was associated with decreased risk of hip fracture.
