The sensitivity of KIBRAF cells NSCLC to MEK inhibitors (below) and the fact that activation of oncogenes, including BRAF, paradoxically leads to senescence that depends on the modulation of MEK/ERK signaling [24, 25] led us to examine ERK and MEK activation following treatment with dasatinib in KIBRAF NSCLC cells (H1666, Cal12T) and WTBRAF NSCLC cells (A549, H661) using phosphospecific antibodies (Figure 6A).
