Previous studies have shown that Versican can be detected in many malignancies including melanoma, non-small cell lung cancers, breast tumors,9, 10, 11, 12 pharyngeal,13 ovarian cancer7, 14 and cervical cancer.15 Increased accumulation of structurally modified Versican is reportedly related to the progression of laryngeal cancer.16 However, the significance of Versican has been less extensively studied in gastric adenocarcinoma. This evidence concerns the gene VCAN and cervical cancer.
