A case report of a 51-year-old male who presented with extensive purpura and anemia was admitted to the hospital and labs revealed elevated PT, PTT, thrombin-antithrombin complex, fibrin degradation products (FDPs), D-dimers, plasmin-antiplasmin complex (PAP), normal PLTs, positive fibrin monomer test, and low AAP [8]. This evidence concerns the gene PLG and anemia (phenotype).
