Genetic variation in the LXRα-encoding gene NR1H3 has been associated with increased risk of ischemic vascular disease [123], as well as LV hypertrophy (Van der Harst et al., unpublished data), obesity [32, 110], longevity [91], and the metabolic syndrome [78], although another study was not able to validate the latter [110]. This evidence concerns the gene NR1H3 and obesity disorder.
