FOXP3 and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia: Since Foxp3+ T regulatory-cells are known to suppress immune responses and several studies suggest that association between increased CD4+ Foxp3+ frequency and persistent HPV infection and/or progression of cervical dysplasia and other malignancies [32–35], our observations rouses a question about the significance of Tregs in healthy children and the bearing it might have for later HPV infections.
