Analyses of mRNA expression data from 164 pancreatic tumor samples, 69 normal pancreatic ductal tissue (a total of 233 specimen), as well as 73 pancreatic cancer cell line specimens for comparison, revealed that NQO1 mRNA levels were elevated 5- to >100-fold in pancreatic tumor samples compared to normal tissue (Fig. 1A). This evidence concerns the gene NQO1 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
