Among ART-naïve HIV patients, those with H. pylori co-infection had higher CD4 T cell counts (312 vs. 189 cells/μl, p<0.0001), higher CD4/CD8 ratios (0.31 vs. 0.19, p<0.0001) and lower HIV-1 viral loads (4.92 vs. 5.21 log10 copies/ml, p = 0.006) compared to those without H. pylori co-infection. Here, CD8A is linked to coinfection.
