Further increases in both C-caspase 3 and Bax were detected in the diabetes + SCI groups relative to the SCI group 7 days after contusion (P < 0.05; Fig. 3F); the reverse was seen for Bcl2, with progressively lower levels seen in the SCI and diabetes + SCI groups relative to controls (P < 0.05; Fig. 3G).
