Compared with subpopulations in TAM-V, TAM-M and TAM-S subpopulations had common features, i.e. decreased expression of IL-1β, IL-12 and CCL17 whereas increased expression of CXCL9, CXCL11, Arg1, IL-10, CD206, uPA, CXCL4 and TGFβ, which further confirmed the observation that tumor microenvironment containing both M-CSF isoforms educated TAMs to M2 phenotype. Here, CSF1 is linked to neoplasm.
