MiR-96 has been reported to exert an oncogenic effect in non-small cell lung cancer, esophageal cancer, breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and prostate cancer, respectively by inhibiting the expression of FOXO3, RECK, FOXO3a and FOXO1 [16, 20–23]. The gene discussed is FOXO3; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
